Andres Izquieta: Zara Shoes
I recently started my personal fashion blog, The Layer King. I will be documenting my personal style, along with style features on random topics from others’ style, to brands I like, and much more misc. stuff, all pertaining to style.
So each entry will be featuring an overall look of my outfit that is shoot myself with my iPhone, then some detail shots of my sleeves, layers, and a collage of all that I’m wearing. Check out some of the entries below. You can read about more why I started at the link here.
I went with a more simple look on this day. The Zara brown leather jacket definitely made the outfit. I paired it with a Uniqlo red plaid shirt, H&M light wash jeans, and one of my favorite shoes to date: Five Four tan leather shoes!
It’s a little challenging to wear orange jeans, but I decided I was in the mood this day. I matched it with a blue oxford shirt from Five Four, a Zara khaki trench coat, and Five Four brown deck shoes. To pop it all off, I put on my vintage Christian Dior glasses that I purchased a few years back in L.A. at Jack’s on La Brea. The guy told me they were made in 1981, and you can even see on the inside of the frames it says “Dior Monsieur”, this was wayyyyy pre Dior Homme.
I love this sweater from Uniqlo, I purchased this back in New York in December. It’s super comfortable and easy to wear. I just got back from Tokyo, and by far it was the most important piece in my wardrobe during this trip. It reminds me of a Grandpa sweater, but interpreted in a cool manner. I threw on my vintage long white shirt, with a Five Four shirt jacket under it. The belt I got from Argentina from a street vendor, and lastly my jeans are Zara and shoes are Five Four.
I love injecting color into my wardrobe. And even though white is more of a neutral, it always pops like a pop color. I bought this jacket at Zara awhile ago, and paired it with a Five Four shirt and a sweater from H&M. The jeans are from Five Four, and have a few repair patches on them, adding just enough details on it to make it stand out. The boat shoes are from Five Four, and sunglasses from Warby Parker.
Denim shirts rule. This one I bought in London at Massimo Dutti, and I paired it with a Five Four shirt, and H&M henley. The off white jeans are from Zara, and the shoes are tan leather kicks from Five Four.
This wool toggle sweater from Zara rules. It’s super comfortable, and the look of it is off the hook. Underneath is a Five Four gray shirt, with a white henley from Five Four as well. The jeans are from Topman/Topshop, and the shoes are wool herringbone shoes from Five Four that are coming out this Fall. These are crazy, I can’t wait until these shoes drop. Lastly, my sunglasses are from Warby Parker.
